CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Four NC State volleyball players recorded double-digit kills Friday night in a 3-1 victory against Virginia, including double-doubles from Melissa Evans and Jade Parchment. The Pack have now won three of its last four matches and two-straight against ACC opponents. Friday was also NC State's fourth-straight win over Virginia, as head coach Linda Hampton-Keith remains undefeated against the Hoos.
NC State (8-11, 3-4 ACC) was led by Jessica Kemp's 14 kills followed by 13 from Lauryn Terry, who tied her career-high. Evans tallied 12 kills with 10 digs on a match-best .333 hitting percentage followed by Parchment's 10 kills and team-best 15 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Virginia (9-11, 3-4 ACC) inched back within two, 14-12, before eventually narrowing the gap to one, 21-20. Following a timeout, the Pack ended the set with a 4-1 run featuring two kills from Terry.
The Pack had to work from behind in the second set as Virginia jumped out to an 8-4 lead. Down 11-9, NC State took advantage of five-straight Cavaliers miscues and tacked on two kills of its own for an 18-12 lead, putting them in position to win the second set. Parchment was a highlight of the first two sets, recording six kills on 16 swings, with no errors.
Virginia avoided the sweep with a third set win but NC State came back hitting an outstanding .419 in the fourth set. NC State only trailed 0-1 in the set, jumping out to as large as an eight-point lead, 20-12. The Wolfpack led in every statistical category, except for service aces where Virginia had the 8-7 edge.
