GREENSBORO, N.C. – The NC State women's basketball team has been selected to finish second in the Atlantic Coast Conference this season by both the league's head coaches and the Blue Ribbon Panel, the ACC announced Wednesday afternoon.

NC State received two first-place votes and a total of 201 points in a vote of the league's head coaches. The Wolfpack received eight first-place votes and a total of 637 points in a vote of the league's Blue Ribbon Panel, which is a group that consists of media members, sports information directors, and radio broadcasters from the league's 15 cities.

In six seasons at NC State, head coach Wes Moore's teams have exceeded or at least equaled preseason expectations six times. The Wolfpack enters this season having competed in three consecutive NCAA Tournaments and two straight NCAA Tournament Sweet 16s.

Louisville was selected to finish first in both polls, receiving 223 points (13 first-place votes) from the league's head coaches and 713 points (34 first-place votes) from the Blue Ribbon Panel.

NC State also had three student-athletes earn individual honors in the preseason release: freshman Jakia Brown-Turner, sophomore Elissa Cunane, and senior Aislinn Konig.

NC State opens the 2019-20 season with a free home exhibition against Anderson on Thursday, Oct. 31. The Wolfpack officially begins the season at home against North Carolina A&T on Wednesday, Nov. 6. This Friday (Oct. 18), the NC State men's and women's basketball teams will host the annual Primetime with the Pack event inside Reynolds Coliseum beginning at 8 pm. Admission is free, but fans planning to attend must reserve a free ticket here.
