Three Gymnasts Earn EAGL Weekly Honors

Baltimore, Md. --Â Three NC State gymnasts received East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) weekly honors, as announced by the EAGL on Tuesday. Caitlyn Fillard was named EAGL Gymnast of the Week, Paris Phillips was named EAGL Specialist of the Week, and Meredith Robinson was named EAGL Rookie of the Week.
The Wolfpack opened its season at Michigan State on Saturday, earning a win to start the season 1-0. Caitlyn Fillard led the Pack, as she claimed the all-around title (38.975). She tallied three podium finishes (all-around, bars, beam), including a first-place finish on beam with a score of 9.800. Paris Phillips recorded podium finishes and led the Pack in the two events she competed in. She tied for second on vault (9.750) and floor (9.875). Freshmen Meredith Robinson claimed EAGL Rookie of the Week honors after posting a 9.775 on bars in her collegiate debut, placing first in the event.
George Washington, Towson, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Pittsburgh did not compete this past weekend.
The Wolfpack gymnastics squad will play host to Ohio State in its home-opener on Saturday, January 12 at Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum at 6 p.m.
