Clairmonte Named ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week

Clairmonte's mile time ranks fourth in the nation

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Dominique Clairmonte has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Track Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference Wednesday. The redshirt sophomore's mile time was the fastest in the country this past weekend and earned her a first-place finish at the Hokie Invitational. Wednesday's announcement marks the first time Clairmonte has garnered track and field weekly honors.

The Lexington, Ohio, native finished the mile with a 4:38.55 mark on Friday, Jan. 18 at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. Clairmonte's time sits as fourth-fastest in the nation and second in the NC State record books.

The Wolfpack will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Lubbock, Texas, to compete at the Texas Tech Classic Jan. 24-26.
