Grantham Repeats as EAGL Gymnast of the Week

The junior gymnast claimed the all-around title in quad-meet at Towson
BALTIMORE, Md. --Â NC State gymnast Drew Grantham has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week for the second consecutive week. Claiming her first all-around title of the 2019 season in a quad-meet at Towson with William & Mary and Cornell on Friday, Jan. 18, Grantham placed on the podium in three events (vault, beam, all-around).Â

NC State has swept the first three weeks of EAGL Gymnast of the Week honors. Caitlyn Fillard was named the week one conference gymnast of the week, and Grantham has won the award the past two weeks.Â
The Durham, N.C., native recorded an all-around score of 39.175 on Friday, her highest of the season. Grantham helped the Pack to season-best scores in three events (vault, bars, floor). She has placed on the podium in all-around competition in every meet this season.
Grantham, the 2018 EAGL Vault Champion, posted a season-high 9.825 on vault to earn first place in the event. She recorded a 9.775 on bars, placed third on beam with a 9.775, and recorded a 9.800 on floor.
Grantham and the Pack will be back in action Friday, Jan. 25 at 7p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C., as the squad takes on UNC-Chapel Hill in a conference dual meet.
