#8 NC State Remains Perfect with Win over Pittsburgh

RALEIGH – The eighth-ranked NC State women's basketball team (16-0, 3-0 ACC) remained unbeaten with a 63-34 victory over Pittsburgh Thursday night on Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. With the win, NC State continues its best unbeaten start to a season in program history, achieved the longest winning streak in program history (16 games), and remains the last unbeaten team in NCAA Division I Basketball this season.
NC State led for 39:28 of the game's 40 minutes, never once trailed, and held Pittsburgh to a season low 12-54 (.222) shooting percentage during the lopsided victory. After taking a 22-11 lead with 4:55 remaining in the first half, the Wolfpack led by double digits for the final 25:05 and led by 20+ points for the final 17:59.
Kiara Leslie followed up her 31-point performance at Boston College with a strong effort featuring 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks. She was joined in double figures by senior DD Rogers, who scored 10 points, shot a perfect 4-4 from the field, and pulled down eight rebounds. Sophomore Kayla Jones recorded a game-high nine rebounds in the victory. NC State out-rebounded Pittsburgh 45-30 and shot an efficient 22-52 (.423) during the win.
Pittsburgh was led offensively by eight points from Kauai Bradley. She was one of only two Panthers to make three field goals during the course of the game.
Postgame Notes
-NC State is 6-2 against Pittsburgh and 5-1 since the Panthers joined the ACC.
-Through 16 games this season, the Wolfpack has held every opponent to shooting .393 or lower from the field.
-NC State is 41-4 at home since the renovation to Reynolds Coliseum.
-Junior Aislinn Konig has hit at least one three-pointer in 49 consecutive games.
-In 120 minutes of ACC play this season, NC State has led for 107:57 and only trailed for 6:18.
