RALEIGH - The No. 21 NC State women's soccer team gutted out a 1-1 2OT draw with 15th-ranked Duke on Thursday evening at Dail Soccer Stadium.
Despite being down a field player for 47 minutes after Ella Bonner was issued a red card in the 63rd minute, the Wolfpack responded with a goal of its own after the Blue Devils struck first late in the second half.
The Wolfpack and Blue Devils both move to 8-2-2 on the season, while the Pack moves to 1-1-1 in ACC play and Duke moves to 2-1-1 in conference action.
The draw marked the first time since 2000 that NC State has beaten or tied Duke. The team remains undefeated against top 20 teams this season, while the Blue Devils were the Pack's second opponent of the season that reached the 2017 College Cup.

How It Happened
After the match was delayed for over two hours due to inclement weather, the first shot was fired in the 11th minute by Duke's Tess Boade but Sydney Wootten easily made the save. Over the next four minutes the Blue Devils reeled a pair of shots and won a corner, but the Pack's defense kept the contest at a deadlock.
NC State's first and only shot of the opening half was by Paige Griffiths in the 18th minute when she put one on frame from above the box but Duke goalkeeper Brooke Heinsohn saved it.
Duke found four more scoring opportunities and won another corner in the rest of the half, but only managed to put one on target.
The Blue Devils opened the second period with an early shot from Taylor Raccioppi, but that was all in the opening 10 minutes.
In the 63rd minute Bonner was issued a red card, putting the Pack down a player the rest of the way.
The backline held strong for 14 more minutes, but the Blue Devils struck in the 77th minute. Ella Stevens passed the ball to Kayla McCoy inside the box, McCoy took a couple of touches to the top of the box and found the back of the net for the fifth time this year.
Five minutes later Tziarra King scored her seventh goal of the season to level to contest. Hannah Keogh threw the ball in to Paige Griffiths, Griffiths played it back to Keogh who found King on the left side, and King's low strike from the top of the box got past Heinsohn.
The Blue Devils tried to put it away with a corner and pair of shots in the final three minutes of regulation, but the teams were forced to go into overtime.
A combined three shots were hit in the first OT period with two of them put on frame, while Duke fired four more shots and won three corners in the final OT period.
Sydney Wootten came up clutch on several occasions for the Pack in goal, as she made seven saves and assisted in defending all six of Duke's corners.
