Wolfpack Set For Top 25 Matchup With Duke Thursday Night

RALEIGH – The No. 21 NC State women's soccer team will wrap up a three-match ACC home stand Thursday when it faces No. 15 Duke at Dail Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m. and the match will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
Both teams own an 8-2-1 overall record heading into the contest, as the Wolfpack is 1-1 this season in ACC play and the Blue Devils are 2-1.

Last Time Out
NC State dominated Pittsburgh 6-0 on Sunday afternoon at home for its first ACC win of the season. Ricci Walkling and Michaella van Maanen each recorded a brace, while Anna Toohey and Hannah Keogh both found the back of the net once.
The team's six goals are the most since the program's season opener in 2016 against La Salle at the Wake Forest Invitational on Aug. 19, when the Pack won 6-1. It was the largest margin of victory since Sept. 5, 2010, when NC State defeated Loyola Maryland 6-0 at home, and the largest margin of victory over an ACC team since Oct. 21, 1994, when the Pack won 7-1 at Wake Forest.

Thursday will mark the 35th meeting between the teams, as Duke leads the all-time series 23-10-1. The teams last met on Oct. 5, 2017, in Durham and the Pack suffered a 2-0 loss.

Thursday will mark the Pack's fifth contest of the season against a team is ranked or receiving votes. NC State is 2-0 against top 20 programs this year, and Duke will be the team's second opponent of the season that reached the 2017 College Cup.
NC State defeated then-No. 10 South Carolina 2-1 at home on Aug. 26, and traveled to then-No. 20 Princeton on Sept. 2 and won 3-1.
