-Only allowed seven goals through eight matches (0 in ACC play).
-Won 50 corner kicks compared to just 26 for their opponents.
-Eight of 12 goals have come in the second half of matches.
SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 3-2-1)
-The last three meetings between the teams are split evenly at 1-1-1.
-The most recent meeting was a 3-2 NC State win at No. 5 Louisville on Oct. 21, 2017.
ALUMNI NIGHT
Friday's match vs. No. 6 Louisville will serve as NC State's annual Alumni Night. A few dozen Wolfpack soccer alumni will be in attendance as NC State seeks to earn its third top-14 victory of the season.
BALANCED SCORING AND FIRST CAREER GOALS
NC State's 12 goals this season have come from nine different players. Newcomer Gabriel Machado leads the team with three, all of which are match winners.
SET PIECE SWEENEY
Playing in a defensive midfield role does not often lead to many scoring opportunities, so sophomore Brad Sweeney is making his count. The Birmingham, England, native has scored two goals on set pieces this season: Aug. 24 vs. USC Upstate and Sept. 25 at Pittsburgh. He has two shots on target this season, both of which are goals.
STEADY IN GOAL
Sophomore goalkeeper Leon Krapf is in the second season of a very strong college career. The German international has played every minute of 26 matches and has recorded 11 shutouts and 64 saves while allowing only 28 goals. His current goals against average (GAA) this season is 0.98. If he were to slightly improve that over the rest of the year, it could break the previous best season in program history (Christopher Widman's 0.88 in 2009).
On Sept. 24, he was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week after making three saves in a shutout victory over No. 14 Virginia Tech.
