Fall Schedule
RALEIGH – The NC State men's tennis team has released its fall schedule, as announced by head coach Kyle Spencer. The Wolfpack is slated to play in various collegiate and professional tournaments throughout the fall before beginning its dual-match season in January.
The Pack's fall competition kicks off Sept. 20-23 as NC State sends four players to the 43rd Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic in Wisconsin. Robert Turzak, Michael Ogden, Joseph Schrader and Collin Shick will represent NC State among competitors from programs across the nation.
NC State will also compete at the UVA Masters from Sept. 21-23 in Charlottesville, Va. The tournament is a double-elimination event featuring top-level collegiate talent, and the winner of the singles draw will earn a wildcard into the qualifying round for the Charlottesville Challenger in October.
The ITA All-American Championships is set to run from Sept. 29-Oct. 8 in Tulsa, Okla., and six members of the Wolfpack have earned selection to compete at the national tournament in both singles and doubles. In addition to vying for the All-American title, players will be looking to secure an automatic berth to the ITA National Fall Championships.
The next week, the ITA Carolina Regional returns to the Cary Tennis Park, where NC State's players will face off against opponents from universities across North and South Carolina. The regional championship is set to run Oct. 12-16 and provides another opportunity for the Wolfpack to earn spots at the ITA National Fall Championships.
NC State will play in two additional collegiate tournaments in November, the Lakewood Ranch Tennis Classic (Nov. 2-4) and the Wake Forest Invitational (Nov. 9-11).
The collegiate fall season culminates with the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place Nov. 7-11 in Surprise, Ariz. Players who qualify will have the chance to compete in the only event on the college tennis calendar to feature competitors from all five divisions in the same tournament.
Throughout the fall season, the Pack will also have several players competing at various ATP Challenger Tour events to provide a continued opportunity to earn ATP points and focus on their development for professional tennis. The Challengers are listed on the full fall schedule.
Opponents and dates for the 2019 spring dual match season will be announced at a later time.
