No. 16 Women’s Soccer To Host No. 10 South Carolina Sunday

RALEIGH – The No. 16 NC State women's soccer team is set for a top 20 matchup Sunday when it hosts No. 10 South Carolina at Dail Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m. and the contest will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
The meeting marks the last of a three-match home stretch for the Wolfpack, as the team enters the contest with a 2-0-1 record while the Gamecocks are 3-0-0.

Series History
Sunday marks the seventh time the teams will meet in program history, as South Carolina owns a 5-1-0 advantage. The squads last met on Aug. 25, 2016, when the Pack traveled to Columbia and suffered a 3-0 loss.
Last Time Out
NC State hosted East Carolina on Thursday evening and battled to a 1-1 draw. In her first start since overcoming an injury, Kia Rankin scored 15 minutes into the contest. ECU managed to level the score though in the 35th minute with a header goal off a corner kick.
Both teams found multiple scoring opportunities the rest of the match, but were unable to capitalize.
Undefeated Streak
Dating back to Oct. 8, 2017, the Wolfpack holds an eight-match streak of remaining undefeated in regular season contests. The squad closed out the regular season portion of its 2017 schedule with five straight wins (Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Clemson, Virginia Tech and Louisville), and is off to a 2-0-1 start in 2018.
Scouting South Carolina
The Gamecocks have earned wins over Fordham (1-0), College of Charleston (2-0) and Clemson (1-0) to start their season. The team returns three of its four top scorers from last year, while their top returning goalkeeper, Mikayla Krzeczowski, owns a program-best .44 career goals-against average.
South Carolina ranks eighth and 10th on the latest Soccer America and United Soccer Coaches polls, in respective order.
