Franken and Rhoades Named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State men's golf team members Stephen Franken and Harrison Rhoades were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars on Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
A junior studying business administration, Franken was named the 2017-18 ACC Men's Golf Player of the Year and 2017-18 ACC Men's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He finished the season with a 70.56 stroke average, the second-lowest in program history, and posted eight top-10 and six top-5 finishes in 12 tournaments this year.
Franken, who led the Wolfpack to its first NCAA Championship appearances since 2011, ranked No. 20 in the nation according to Golfweek and No. 27 according to Golfstat in the postseason rankings.
Rhoades, who is a two-time member of the All-ACC Academic team, posted a scoring average of 73.38 for the Pack last season. The Business Administration major won the North Carolina Amateur title in June.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
