Elly Henes became a conference champion for the second time in her career, winning the 5,000m Saturday evening.Â
Henes, who won the 3,000m at the ACC Indoor Championships and was an All-American in the 5,000m during the indoor season, also won in dramatic fashion. She remained the second runner in the later laps of the race, but kicked it into high gear coming down the final stretch. The Wolfpack sophomore beat out Louisville's Dorcas Wasike at the finish line to earn the crown.
