Seven Named To All-ACC Academic Indoor Track & Field Teams

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Seven student-athletes from the NC State men's and women's track and field teams have been named to the 2018 All-ACC Academic Indoor Track & Field Teams, as announced by the conference office Thursday. All of the members of the Wolfpack who were honored also earned All-America and/or All-ACC honors during the 2017-18 indoor season.
2018 All-ACC Academic Men's Indoor Track & Field Team
- Joshua Davis, Gr. - Masters, Business Administration
- Christopher Garrick, Jr. - Business Administration
- Shannon Patterson, Sr. - Business Administration
- Dylan Peebles, So. - Entrepreneurship and Marketing
Davis adds the fifth All-ACC Academic Team honors of his career. The redshirt senior was named ACC Men's Field Athlete of the Year and USTFCCCA Southeast Region Men's Field Performer of the Year after a record-breaking gold medal performance in the weight throw at the ACC Indoor Championships. He went on to place third at the NCAA Championships.Â
Garrick is also a multi-time honoree, as this marks his third All-ACC Academic recognition. The NC State junior earned an All-ACC spot in the high jump for the fifth time in his career this past season.
Patterson and Peebles earned academic recognition for the first time. Patterson concluded his senior indoor season with All-ACC Second Team honors in the 200m, and Peebles took third in the event at the conference championship to earn a spot on the First Team.Â
2018 All-ACC Academic Women's Indoor Track & Field Team

Kemp leads the group of women with her sixth All-ACC Academic selection after earning a spot on the Second Team All-ACC in the women's 5,000m. She also was selected as an ACC Postgraduate Scholarship recipient.Â
Henes was the ACC Women's Track Performer of the Year, became an ACC champion in the 3,000m, and was a First Team All-America selection in the 5,000m. The Wolfpack sophomore has been honored as a member of the All-ACC Academic Team after all three track and field seasons that she has participated in.
Cobb garners the honors for the first time, coming off of a successful freshman indoor season during which she earned Second Team All-ACC honors in the triple jump.Â
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic Team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 grade point average during the previous semester and maintained a 3.0 cumulative grade point average during their academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered.Â
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes each conference student-athlete with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
