RALEIGH, N.C. – Graduate student Lauren Phillips will represent the NC State rifle program at the 2018 NCAA Championships held on Friday inside McAlister Field House on The Citadel's campus.
Â
Phillips will compete in the second relay of smallbore, which is set to begin at 12:45 p.m. The Wolfpack's top shooter was one of four individuals selected to participate in the event at the NCAA Championships.
Â
The smallbore finals session will begin at 3:30 p.m. The championships will be broadcast live on ncaa.com and will include live scoring updates.
Â
Hailing from Seabeck, Wash., Phillips is making her second appearance at the NCAA Championships, as she helped lead Nebraska to a fifth-place finish at the event as a freshman for the Cornhuskers.
Â
She was a First Team All-American by the National Rifle Association (NRA) and a third team selection by the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) that season. Phillips was the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) Individual Champion in smallbore last year.
