BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - In an effort for both teams to make up their games that were cancelled on Tuesday, the NC State softball team's game at Gardner-Webb has been changed to a doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m.
NC State's contest at Winthrop and Gardner-Webb's doubleheader against UNCW at home were cancelled due to inclement weather.Â
As of now just the 4 p.m. game will be streamed on the Big South Network.
NC State is 12-7 on the season and the Runnin' Bulldogs are 13-9. The teams have only met twice prior to Wednesday and the Pack has won both contests. They last met on Feb. 10, 2007 at the Carolina Classic and NC State picked up a 5-0 victory.
In its last time out the Wolfpack dropped its series with Pittsburgh at Dail Stadium. After winning its ACC opener 7-0 on Friday, the squad suffered a 9-1 loss on Saturday and dropped a 7-5 decision on Sunday in the rubber match.
Â
Last weekend Gardner-Webb also hosted a tournament, the Red And Black Softball Tournament, finishing 3-2 as it earned a pair of wins over Marist (5-1, 3-1) and one over NC Central (5-3). The Runnin' Bulldogs are 10-6 at home this season.
Â

Â
In the circle the Runnin' Bulldogs own a 4.20 ERA, averaging 2.59 strikeouts per game and 5.18 runs per game. Laken Myers paces the staff with a 3.03 ERA and a 3-4 record.
