KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — James Brady and Stewart Spanbauer continued their impressive form at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships as they both advanced to the final on the one-meter board Tuesday inside the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
Along with qualifying for the NCAA Championships on three-meter, Brady made his second finals appearance of the Championships, as did Spanbauer.
From the Coach
"Today was a fairly disappointing day in Knoxville," said diving coach Yahya Radman. "I think we were recovering from an extreme high after competing fairly well on the first day and qualifying to NCAA's. Today was more like a hangover; nobody was firing really well. The two boys that made it into the finals did a very good job but I think expectations and assumptions ended up being our biggest enemy today. We lost a lot of technical points on just what they assume the program wants from them and the expectations they had on themselves, instead of trusting their training and just doing the best with it the let it get the best of them. Tomorrow's a new day, tomorrow's a fresh start and I'm looking forward to seeing where we can go and I hope that tomorrow brings better tidings."
