Gymnastics Selected to Host, Compete at NCAA Regional Championship

Wolfpack earns selection to the Regional Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 20 NC State gymnastics team was selected to compete in the 2018 National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics Regional Championships, announced Monday by the NCAA. The Wolfpack will host the regional inside Reynolds Coliseum on April 7 at 4 p.m.
Also appearing in the six-team regional will be No. 2 LSU, No. 11 Nebraska, No. 14 Oregon State, No. 19 George Washington & Maryland.
There will be six regionals held across the country and every team will be hoping to finish first or second, which will guarantee a spot in the NCAA Gymnastics Championships, April 20-21 in St. Louis, Missouri.
The top two all-around competitors, along with the event winners from each regional, will also receive an automatic bid if they are not already on one of the teams that will advance to the championship round
The Wolfpack enters the regional with a Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 196.440, which ranks 20th in the country. On Mar. 24 inside SECU Arena the Wolfpack won the EAGL Championship for the first time since 2013 after posting a score of 196.625; Chelsea Knight won the all-around title with a score of 39.425 while Drew Grantham tied for a share of the vault title with a 9.900. The Pack also had 19 All-Tournament Team.
