No. 11 Wolfpack Rifle Travels to Wofford Sunday

NC State prepped for final dual competition of the season
RALEIGH, N.C. – The 11th-ranked NC State rifle team will head to Spartanburg, S.C., this weekend for its final dual match of the 2017-18 season against the Wofford Terriers. Action is slated to begin at 9 a.m. Sunday morning inside the Taylor Center Rifle Range.

The Wolfpack enters the match with a 10-7 overall record, while the Terriers are 2-11.

NC State will be competing against Wofford for the first time since 2016, when the squad's squared off in the now disbanded Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC). The Pack last traveled to the Terriers on Nov. 14, 2010, when NCSU earned a team score of 2269 in air rifle to record the win.

Last Time Out
In its last outing, NC State broke the program record for total aggregate score with a mark of 4678 in Annapolis, Md., against the Navy Midshipmen.

Hitting Stride
The Wolfpack has taken its level of competition to another level during the 2018 portion of its schedule, as NC State's last four scores have been among the program's best this season.

NCSU opened the year by breaking the program record with an aggregate score of 4673 before eclipsing that mark at Navy with its 4678 clip. Additionally, the Wolfpack fired a season-high score of 2362 in the air rifle event at Navy as well.

Heading into the NCAA Qualifier Match and the Great America Rifle Conference Championships in a few weeks, NC State seems to be hitting its stride.
