#37 Women's Tennis Earns 7-0 Win Over Arizona

LUBBOCK, Texas. – The #37 NC State women's tennis team's weekend got off to a positive start as it earned a convincing 7-0 win over Arizona Saturday at the Lubbock Country Club.

From the Coach
"A very solid win over Arizona for the team today," said head coach Simon Earnshaw. "I thought we did a good job setting the tone from the beginning in doubles and we were able to carry that momentum over into singles which has been an area we needed to improve. The conditions here are somewhat different to what we are used to but our adaptation has been reasonable smooth and we were able to carry out our game plans for the most part. This past week we've been able to focus with much greater clarity on what's important to achieve our season goals and I like our current heading. That being said nothing happens by chance and we've got to keep fighting hard to eliminate chance as much as possible."

Doubles
The Wolfpack continued its strong doubles play and took the point in impressive fashion; #12 Claudia Wiktorin & Anna Rogers defeated Tayla Zandberg & Mary Lewis 6-1 at No. 1 while at No. 3 Taylor Bridges and Bianca Moldovan overcame Camila Westbrooks & Taylor Tamblyn 6-1.

Singles
The Pack swept its singles match; #113 Anna Rogers defeated Mary Lewis 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1 while at No. 2 Adriana Reami outlasted Camila Westbrooks 6-7(6), 6-1, 1-0 (10-4). #94 Claudia Wiktorin picked up the win at No. 3 beating Marie Van Aeslt 6-0, 6-1 and Bianca Moldovan earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 over Tayla Zandberg. At No. 5 Taylor Bridges defeated Tayla Zadberg 6-2, 6-3 and Tayla Stenta earned a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 6 over Sophia Thomas.
