Gymnastics to Host William & Mary in Sweetheart Meet

RALEIGH – On the heels of posting a season-high score of 196.575 last Saturday the NC State gymnastics team returns to Reynolds Coliseum when it hosts William & Mary in the Sweetheart Meet at 4 p.m. Saturday.

"I think everyone is excited to be back at Reynolds this weekend for our annual Sweetheart meet," said head coach Kim Landrus. "As a coaching staff, we've seen a great deal of focus and momentum both in practice and in competition. It'll be important for us to stay within ourselves, be aggressive in our gymnastics, and continue to build on the foundation that we've established thus far this season."

Last Time Out for NC State
Last Saturday NC State hosted #6 Michigan, UNC-Chapel Hill & Brown in the Alumni Meet inside Reynolds Coliseum and earned a season-high score of 196.575.Along with being a season-high score, the Wolfpack's 196.575 was also the 10th-highest score in program history and the highest score in the EAGL this season. NC State also set season-highs on bars and beam along with earning six individual career-highs on the night.
Knight Earns EAGL Weekly Honor
Senior Chelsea Knight was honored as EAGL Gymnast of the Week for the second time this season Tuesday. Anchoring every event, Knight had an all-around score of 39.350 to finish first and also won beam after earning a score of 9.950. Her beam score was a career-high, the fourth-highest score in program history, tied for the highest beam score in the EAGL this season and helped the Wolfpack achieve a season-high beam score of 49.300.
Knight also helped NC State achieve its season-high score of 49.150 on bars after she tied for third with a 9.850. On vault she tied for fifth with a score of 9.875
Pack in the Polls
The Pack is ranked #27 in the latest Road to Nationals Rankings and #2 in the EAGL with an average all-around score of 195.421. NC State's average of 49.011 on floor has it ranked #24 nationally and #3 in the EAGL, its 48.796 average on bars has it ranked #28 nationally and #2 in the EAGL, its beam average of 48.743 lands it at #29 in the nation and #3 in the EAGL while its average of 48.871 on vault has it #30 nationally and #3 in the EAGL.
Scouting William & Mary
The Tribe most recently competed on Feb. 17 where it posted a score of 193.000 against Yale; its average all-around score of has it ranked #57 in the nation. It is ranked #49 on vault with a 48.485 average, #57 on bars with a 48.145 average, #59 on beam with a 47.890 average and #60 on floor with a 48.210 average.
NCAA Regional

- Sweetheart Meet: NC State will host its annual Pink Meet against William & Mary. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer survivors will be honored in meet and invited to help line the fan tunnel when the team runs out for march-ins. Sign up for the 2018 survivor recognition HERE.
