Tyler Rice competed in the 'C' final and clocked in at 20.02 to finish sixth.
200 Freestyle Relay
Along with setting a new ACC Championship record, the Pack won the 200 freestyle relay for the fifth-consecutive year. The team of Ryan Held, Justin Ress, Jacob Molacek and Coleman Stewart completed the race in 1:15.34 seconds to cap off the night in impressive fashion for the Wolfpack.
Quoting the Coach
"It was great getting guys on the podium and getting some titles; I think it's a pretty big accomplishment for Anton to win that 500 free four years in a row, that's really hard to do," said head coach Braden Holloway. "Everyone's always gunning for you and he managed to get the four-peat, which is pretty impressive. Great to see Andreas getting his hand on the wall first, that was a tough race; hats off to the other guy as that was a really good race in the 200 IM. Ryan and Justin going one-two in the 50 gave us some nice momentum and set us up for that relay. We went for the American record in that relay; we pulled Gio off, who was 19.3, and had Coleman Stewart at the end to see if we could break that American record and we just missed it. Overall it was a really good relay. I will say that we need to be better at night, we got outperformed tonight overall with our depth we need to be better. The wins are good and they're really big accomplishments but if we want a shot at doing this again we need to be better as a whole."
Up Next:
The Wolfpack will continue competition at the men's ACC championships on Friday. Events include the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay.
