
Women’s Golf Moves Up To Fourth On Second Day Of LPR Classic

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – Thanks to a combined score of 301 (+17) on Monday at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, the NC State women's golf team moved up one spot to fourth place with a 36-hole score of 600 (+32) out of 11 in the team standings.
Held at Rio Mar Country Club, Arkansas (586, +18), Iowa State (591, +23) and Kent State (594, +26)) all remain in the top three of the team standings.
India Clyburn fired another 73 (+2) on Monday, giving her a 36-hole score of 146 (+4) to remain in a tie for third place. Laura Kowohl also sits among the top 10 of the player standings in T8th after shooting 75 in the second round for a combined 148 for the tournament.
Naomi Ko posted a six-over par 77 to tie for 23rd overall with a two-day score of 153 (+11). Mim Sangkapong shot 76 to move up six spots on the leaderboard at T33rd to sit one stroke back from Ko at 154.
Cecily Overbey and Crystal Huang shot 80 and 81, respectively, for 36-hole scores of 157 and 159. Overbey is in a tie for 40th while Huang is T49th in the player standings.
NC State will conclude play Tuesday at the Lady Puerto Rico Invitational. The final round will be an 7:30 a.m. AST shotgun start and the Pack will be paired with players from Arkansas, Iowa State and Kent State on holes one through six.
