
Volleyball Wins Third Straight, Completes Season Sweep of Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – After earning a 3-1 win in the first meeting between the teams this season, the NC State volleyball team completed the season sweep against Notre Dame with a 3-1 (14-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-23) victory Friday night inside Purcell Pavilion.
It was the first time that the Wolfpack has won in South Bend since 2014 and it was also the program's first season sweep against the squad.
Notre Dame opened the match strong, but NC State answered with a strong second-set win to grab the momentum en route to the 3-1 victory.
The Pack moves to 13-12 on the year and 7-8 in ACC play, while the Fighting Irish fall to 15-10 and 9-6 in conference action.
Match Rewind
- With the score knotted at 10 in the second set, the Wolfpack won seven of the next nine points to grab a 17-12 lead after a kill from Melissa Evans.
- A service ace from Kassie Kasper pushed the advantage to 22-16 to force a Notre Dame timeout and NC State went on to win the frame 25-21.
- The Wolfpack opened the third set on fire, jumping out to a 6-1 lead, resulting in a timeout by the Fighting Irish.
- Later in the frame, Keira Moore put down a kill to stretch the advantage to 13-6. After Notre Dame trimmed the margin to 20-17, Jade Parchment's kill sparked a 3-0 run to power the Pack to a 2-1 lead in the match.
- NC State never trailed, nor was the scored tied at any point in the third set.
- The Pack closed out the match with a strong fourth set to hand the Irish just their fourth home loss of the season.
- Following a timeout with NC State trailing 22-20, the Wolfpack won three of the next four points to force an Irish timeout with the tally even at 23 after a block from Parchment and Lauryn Terry.
- Back-to-back kills from Parchment sealed the win for the Pack, as NCSU closed out the fourth set with five consecutive points to clinch the match.

- Parchment tallied a career high in the contest with 21 kills, which matches the most by an NC State player in a match this season.
- Evans put down 10 kills, while Moore had eight.
- At setter, Kylie Pickrell led all players with 47 assists and also collected eight digs.
- Defensively, libero Makenzie Kuchmaner matched her total from the first meeting against Notre Dame with 32 digs, which ties the rally-scoring era record.
