Wolfpack Set for ACC/Big Ten Challenge

Twelve NC State swimmers and divers to represent ACC at the inter-conference meet.

RALEIGH – The Wolfpack is set to send 12 of its swimmers and divers to West Lafayette, Ind. for the inaugural ACC/Big Ten Swimming and Diving Challenge this weekend. The meet, which runs Nov. 10-11, will be held at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center on the campus of Purdue University.
The NC State men will be represented by diver James Brady and swimmers Andreas Vazaios, Justin Ress, Coleman Stewart, Jacob Molacek and Giovanni Izzo. On the women's side, diver Madeline Kline and swimmers Elise Haan, Ky-lee Perry, Tamila Holub, Julia Poole and Emma Muzzy will be part of the ACC's team.
In addition to having student-athletes in action as members of the ACC squad, NC State head coach Braden Holloway will serve as the head coach for the conference's men's swimmers, and head diving coach Yahya Radman will coach the men's divers for the ACC.
MEET INFO:
The two-day meet kicks off Saturday at 5 p.m. and will resume with a second day of action that begins at 10 a.m. Sunday morning.

LAST TIME OUT:
The Wolfpack swept each of its first two meets, with NC State's latest wins coming over Duke. The women set six pool records on the way to beating Duke by a 196-104 score, and the NC State men took the meet by a 198-102 decision. The Pack won all but two of the swimming events in the victories over the Blue Devils and swept nine events.
PACK IN THE POLLS:
After a solid start to the 2018-19 campaign that saw both teams win their first two dual meets of the season, the NC State men's and women's swimming and diving teams each earned No. 4 rankings in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national poll.
The Wolfpack women made an impressive jump in the poll, bettering their preseason ranking of No. 11 by seven spots. It marks the highest ranking for NC State's women since the team started the 2016-17 season ranked No. 4. The Pack men maintained their hold on the No. 4 ranking that they received in the preseason.
UP NEXT:
NC State will return to the state of Indiana next weekend to compete at the IU Invitational, which is set to run Nov. 15-17 at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington.
