
Rifle Outdone by National Champion Kentucky in Dual Match

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Facing off against the 2017-18 National Champion Kentucky Wildcats, the 17th-ranked NC State rifle team was outdone by No. 4 Kentucky, 4690-4639, Friday afternoon inside the Kentucky Rifle Range.

The Wolfpack compiled a team score of 2300 in smallbore and a 2339 in air rifle to compile its aggregate score. The Wildcats logged a 2329 in smallbore and a 2361 in air rifle en route to the final score of 4690.

NC State falls to 2-3 on the year and 1-3 in Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) action, while Kentucky remains unbeaten with a 6-0 overall record and a 4-0 mark in conference competition.

Smallbore Notes
- Kendra Jacobs paced the Pack in the smallbore discipline with a score of 580 thanks to a perfect result in her first series in kneeling. Her score was the third highest in the match.
- Will Marciniak finished closely behind her with a mark of 579 after charting a perfect second series in the prone position to finish fifth.
- Tyler Lefebvre recorded a score of 572, while Claire Zanti and Claire Spina notched scores of 571 and 570, respectively.
- Zach Eisenberg earned a 559 and Aron Tinter rounded out the group for the Wolfpack with a 543.
