
NC State Travels to Bloomington for IU Invitational

RALEIGH – The No. 3/7 NC State men's and women's swimming and diving teams will make the trip to Bloomington, Ind. to compete at the IU Invitational this weekend. The meet is set to run Thursday through Saturday at the Counsilman Billingsley Aquatic Center.
MEET INFO:
The Wolfpack is one of six programs sending swimmers and divers to the IU Invitational, as No. 2/9 Indiana also welcomes No. 14/RV Arizona State, No. 13/8 Louisville and the Purdue women's team. Indiana, Louisville and SMU will compete against the Wolfpack in the diving events.
Swimming prelims begin at 9 a.m. each morning followed by a 5 p.m. session of finals each evening. For the divers, prelims start at 10:30 a.m. during the first two days of competition, with the finals scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. The platform dive finals will be held at 10:30 a.m. on the final morning of the meet.
There will be A, B and C finals for each event. The top 24 individuals will earn points for their respective teams, and the A and B relays will be scored as well.

LAST TIME OUT:
NC State competed at the inaugural ACC/Big Ten Challenge last weekend, as 12 Wolfpack swimmers and divers were in action representing the ACC at the inter-conference meet. Andreas Vazaios (21 points), Coleman Stewart (13 points) and Jacob Molacek (13 points) were the ACC's leading scorers on the men's side, all earning individual gold medals over the course of the two-day meet. The Pack men and women finished on the podium a total of 19 times at the event.
PACK IN THE POLLS:
After a solid start to the 2018-19 campaign, both of NC State's swimming and diving squads find themselves ranked in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national poll, with the men checking in at No. 3 and the women ranked No. 7.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK:
Vazaios garnered ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week honors for the second time this season after finishing last weekend's ACC/Big Ten Challenge as the meet's top male scorer. The senior captain tallied 21 points for the ACC's men, backed by first-place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke and the 200-yard individual medley.
UP NEXT:
After the IU Invitational, NC State will be finished with inter-collegiate competition until January. The USA Winter National Championships is set for Nov. 28 to Dec. 1 in Greensboro, N.C., and the USA Diving Winter National Trials will run Dec. 17-21 in Atlanta, Ga.
