Pack Hosts UNC Asheville on Tuesday

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The NC State men's basketball team (2-0) plays its third straight home game Tuesday evening when it hosts UNC Asheville (1-0).

The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be televised on ACC Network Extra with Andrew Sanders and Chris Corchiani on the call.

Pack Tracks
- NC State moved to 2-0 on the season with a 95-49 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday. The Pack had four players in double figures led by senior guard Torin Dorn, who scored 22 points and added 10 rebounds for his 10th career double-double. Sophomore DJ Funderburk and freshman Jericole Hellems both reach double figures in scoring for the first time in their collegiate careers with both players adding 13 points. Sophomore guard Braxton Beverly made his season debut and hit four three-pointers to finish with 12 points.
- The Pack's defense has limited the first two opponents this season to field goal percentages lower than any team shot against NC State last season. The Pack limited Maryland Eastern Shore to 31.5 percent shooting on Saturday. Mount St. Mary's shot 32.8 percent in the season-opener on Tuesday. Last season the lowest field goal percentage for an NC State opponent was 34.8 percent by Robert Morris.
- NC State has limited its first two opponents to a combined 104 points in the first two games. That's the lowest points in the first two games of the season for opponents since the 2009-10 team allowed Georgia State and Akron to score a combined 98 points. The Pack's offense has also been firing on all cylinders in the early going. NC State has scored a combined 200 points in the first two games, the most points in the first two games for NC State since the 1995-96 team scored 201 points in the first two games of the season against VMI and Winthrop.

- NC State leads the all-time series, 18-0.
- Despite the 18-0 all-time advantage, the last two games have been decided by just 7 points. The Pack won by 5, 84-79, on Nov. 11, 2011 and needed to make a second half rally to beat the Bulldogs, 82-80, in the last meeting between the two programs on Nov. 23, 2012.
- The Pack has a 61-1 all-time record against teams from the Big South Conference.

Tuesday Storylines
- NC State has won 23 of its last 24 non-conference games at PNC Arena.
- Torin Dorn is the only Pack player to score in double figures in both games this season. He was joined in double figures in the season-opener by CJ Bryce, Devon Daniels and Markell Johnson. In the second game of the season, Dorn was joined in double figures by Braxton Beverly, DJ Funderburk and Jericole Hellems. In the first two games of the season 11 different NC State players have appeared in a game and seven have scored in double figures.
- UNC Asheville had a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio in its season-opening win with 18 assists and 9 turnovers. So far this season the Pack has forced its opponents into an almost 1-to-2 assist-to-turnover ratio. Mount St. Mary's and Maryland Eastern Shore combined for 17 assists and 33 turnovers.
