Wolfpack to compete for the first time with first-year head coach Emily Holsopple
RALEIGH, N.C. – A new era of NC State rifle is set to get underway this weekend, as the Wolfpack begins its 2018-19 slate in Charleston, S.C., at The Citadel. Action is slated to start at 8 a.m. Saturday morning inside the Inuoye Marksmanship Center.
Â
"We're very excited about the upcoming season and the challenges it poses," said first-year head coach Emily Holsopple. "The team has been hard at work getting ready for this season. I'm really looking forward to seeing what we're capable of achieving."
Â
The Wolfpack starts the year in the same manner it did in 2017 with a trip to The Citadel. NC State was ranked No. 16 in the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Preseason Poll, but is listed at No. 9 in this week's ranking.
Â
The 2018-19 squad features two newcomers, as a pair of Virginia native have joined the Pack as freshmen: Emily Fisher and Aron Tinter. Fisher hails from Fairfax and comes from the same high school, Robinson Secondary, as current team members Zach Eisenberg and Cliare Spina.
Â
Tinter is from Arlington and attended Washington-Lee.
Â
NC State's squad features three seniors: Tyler Lefebvre, Will Marciniak and Spina. The junior class includes Eisenberg, Kendra Jacobs and Claire Zanti, while the Wolfpack does not have any sophomores.
