Since Kiefer took over the Wolfpack program, NC State is an unbeaten 4-0-4 in October matches.
Â
SEEKING CONSECUTIVE NCAA TOURNAMENTS
The Wolfpack's appearance in the 2017 NCAA Tournament was the program's first since 2009. If NC State were to qualify for the 2018 NCAA Tournament, it would mark the first time the program has qualified for back-to-back postseasons since the 1991 and 1992 seasons.
Â
UNITED SOCCER COACHES ACADEMIC AWARD
The NC State men's soccer team earned its 10th consecutive United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, the organization announced Oct. 4 when it released the data for the 2017-18 school year.
Â
THE ENGINE IN MIDFIELD
Midfielder David Loera recorded five assists in 18 matches durÂing his freshman (2017) season. He already equaled that assist total through nine matches this season and is tied for third in the ACC in this category.
Â
STEADY IN GOAL
Sophomore goalkeeper Leon Krapf is in the second season of a very strong college career. The German international has played every minute of 28 matches and has recorded 12 shutouts and 72 saves while allowing only 30 goals. His current goals against average (GAA) for his career is 1.02, which ranks No. 1 in the available goalkeeping records at NC State.
