#23 Women’s Soccer Continues Road Swing At Syracuse Thursday

RALEIGH – The No. 23 NC State women's soccer team will continue its four-match road swing Thursday when it travels to Syracuse. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at SU Soccer Stadium and the contest will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
The Wolfpack enters the matchup with an 8-3-2 (1-2-1 ACC) record while the Orange are 3-9-0 (0-4-0 ACC) this season.
Series History
Thursday marks the fourth time the Wolfpack and Orange have met, as Syracuse leads 2-1 in the all-time series.
The teams last met on Oct. 14 of last year in Raleigh and NC State won 3-0.
Last Time Out
Despite the teams being knotted at one through the first 10 minutes of play, NC State dropped a 2-1 decision to Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Stadium in South Bend, Ind., after Jen Westendorf's goal that proved to be the game-winner in the 60th minute.
Taylor Porter scored the team's lone goal, marking her first of the year.
Road Swing
The contest at Syracuse marks the team's second in its four-match road swing. NC State will travel to Boston College Sunday then Florida State Oct. 12 before returning to Raleigh for its last two home matches of the regular season.
Tough Stretch
The Wolfpack enters a tough stretch of its schedule, as four its next six opponents are ranked or receiving votes for the top 25 (No. 8 Virginia, No. 10 Florida State, No. 11 Boston College and RV Louisville).
RPI
NC State checked in at No. 12 in this week's RPI, and the team is still on track to post its best end-of-season RPI in program history. The team finished at 23rd last year, which was the best mark the Pack has ever received.
The Pack's strength of schedule has been rated the fifth-best in the NCAA.
Climbing The Record Books
Seniors Hannah Keogh and Sydney Wootten continue to climb the record books. Keogh has tallied 22 assists in her career to rank her seventh all-time in the category, and Wootten owns 22 career shutouts which puts her fourth among the program. Keogh is seven assists from cracking into the top 5 and Wootten is two shutouts from tying for third all-time.
Additionally, Tziarra King has scored 32 goals in her career to put her in a tie for seventh in the record books. She has scored seven so far this year and is six away from ranking among the top five in the category.
Scouting Syracuse
Syracuse has lost its last seven matches, and is still seeking its first win in ACC play. The team has not scored a goal in its last four matches, dating back to Sept. 16 vs. Duke in its ACC opener.
Kate Hostage has scored four of the team's six goals this year, while Sydney Brackett and Georgia Allen have tallied one apiece. Goalkeepers Jordan Harris and Lysianne Proulx have split time in goal and own a combined 1.98 goals-against average, giving up a total of 24 this season.
