Smith to Compete at Florence ITF Futures Event

Florence, S.C. --Â Freshman Alana Smith will open competition in Florence, S.C. at the Florence 25k on Sunday. The Maryland native is off to a solid start this fall season, posting a 6-1 singles record in her first seven matches.
She will take on Julia Elbaba in the first round of qualifying singles on Sunday. Elbaba was a four-time All-American as a Virginia Cavalier.
Smith earned her way into the main draw of singles competition last week at the Charleston 25k and also competed in the main draw of doubles competition.Â
