Two Wolfpack Doubles Pairs Reach ITA Carolina Regional Round of 16

CARY, N.C. – The NC State men's tennis team saw two of its doubles duos advance to the Round of 16 at the ITA Carolina Regional after picking up first and second-round wins Saturday at the Cary Tennis Park.
Tadas Babelis and Robert Turzak started the second day of competition at the regional on a strong foot, easing past North Carolina A&T's Hayden Faulkenbury and Jorge Goenaga. Their 6-2, 6-3 win over the Aggies duo advanced them to the Round of 32 later in the morning, where the Wolfpack duo came from behind to defeat Wofford's Julian Chousa and Omar Williams 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
Igor Saveljic and Ivan Saveljic faced Davidson's Azel Fries and Yash Parikh in the second round Saturday afternoon after receiving a first-round bye. The 15th-ranked brothers defeated the Wildcats in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to join Babelis and Turzak as two of eight teams to move on in the doubles main draw.
SUNDAY'S SCHEDULE
The Wolfpack returns to the court Sunday morning at 9 a.m. and will resume play with the doubles Round of 16. Michael Ogden will also be in action in the singles back draw after winning in the round of 32 Saturday afternoon.
