Knight Honored as EAGL Gymnast of the Week

After recording highest individual all-around score in the conference this season, Knight honored with weekly award
BALTIMORE – After both earning the highest individual all-around score and helping the NC State gymnastics team post the highest team score in the EAGL this season at its home opener Saturday, Chelsea Knight was unanimously voted EAGL Gymnast of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.
Knight played a pivotal role in helping the Wolfpack move to 5-0 under head coach Kim Landrus and achieve its highest score in six years; NC State's total of 196.350 was the highest team score since Feb. 24, 2012 and eclipsed Ball State's 194.750 and William & Mary's 193.330. The Wolfpack's 196.350 total also tied for the 11th highest mark in program history.
Her all-around total of 39.450 sits atop the EAGL rankings for highest individual all-around score, is tied for the 11th highest individual all-around score in program history and marks the tenth time in her career that she's posted a score of 39.000 or higher.
Knight earned scores of 9.900 on vault and beam, both Wolfpack individual event high scores and the second highest scores in the EAGL this season, to win both events. She also tied for second on floor thanks to her mark of 9.850 and her 9.800 on bars saw her tie for third.

The Wolfpack travels to Dallas, Texas, where it takes place in the Metroplex Challenge against #2 LSU, #4 UCLA and #14 Washington on Jan. 27 at 7:45 p.m. (ET).
