No. 11 NC State Rifle Breaks Program Record Versus No. 15 Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – After firing a season high in air rifle in yesterday's match, the 11th-ranked NC State rifle team was focused on having a strong performance in both guns today and did just that, breaking the program record with an aggregate score of 4678 against No. 15 Navy Sunday afternoon inside Bancroft Hall Rifle Range.

Navy also broke their program record in the contest; however, to earn the Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) victory with a score of 4683. The Wolfpack fired a mark of 2354 in air rifle and a 2324 in smallbore, while the Midshipmen earned a 2360 in air rifle and 2323 in smallbore.

The Pack's score of 4678 tops the program's previous high of 4673, which was fired at Army in 2017 and again in 2018 in West Point.

NC State moves to 10-7 on the year and 3-5 in the GARC, while Navy improves to 3-3 and 2-3 in conference action.

Smallbore Notes
- Kendra Jacobs turned in a stellar showing in smallbore, as she posted the top score in the match with a 586. She logged 99s on her first three series and recorded a perfect score on her second series in prone.
- Lauren Phillips charted a score of 582 to finish third among individuals in the competition.
- Will Marciniak tallied a perfect second series of prone en route to notching a score of 580.
- Claire Zanti registered a 576 and Zach Eisenberg netted a 569 with both tallying perfect series of prone.
- Claire Spina also competed in the event and earned a score of 576.
- As a team, the Wolfpack achieved a team total of 2324 to best Navy's score in the event by one (2323).

- Zanti put together a score of 585 with a perfect fourth series and Eisenberg shot a 583.
- Spina was the final member of the Wolfpack's counting lineup and produced a score of 581, while Marciniak notched a 576.
- Navy's team score of 2360 in air rifle allowed the Midshipmen to slip past the Wolfpack for the victory, as the Pack compiled a score of 2354.
