RALEIGH, N.C. – Following a strong start to the 2018 calendar slate last weekend, the 11th-ranked NC State rifle team will look to earn a pair of Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) victories this weekend when it travels to Annapolis, Md.
The Wolfpack will take on No. 8 Nebraska in Saturday's match slated for an 8 a.m. start and the 15th-ranked host Navy Midshipmen in Sunday's contest, which is set to begin at 9 a.m. inside the Bancroft Hall Rifle Range.
NC State enters the weekend with a 10-5 overall record, including a 3-3 mark in GARC matches. Nebraska has faced a very difficult schedule this season and owns a 2-10-1 mark with a 1-4 clip in conference action despite having one of the top team score averages nationally. The Midshipmen are 3-4 on the year and 1-2 in GARC matches.
Miller's Minute
"We're coming off a pair of strong matches, so we're in a good mindset heading into the weekend," said head coach Keith Miller. "We like shooting at Navy, as we've fired some strong scores there in the past, so we're loose and ready for two important GARC matches."
Last Time Out
NC State turned in a strong showing in its most recent outing to defeat No. 11 Army inside its home facility with an aggregate score of 4663 on Monday afternoon.

Saturday's meeting will be the second matchup between NC State and Nebraska this season, as the squads met in September to open the season at the NCAA Test Match hosted by The Citadel. The Wolfpack fired a team score of 4650 to earn the win against the Cornhuskers.
