NC State Volleyball Holds Off Georgia Tech for 3-1 Win

ATLANTA – In a match that featured 36 ties and 12 lead changes, the NC State volleyball team held off the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for a 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 18-25, 25-20) win Friday night inside O'Keefe Gym.

NC State edged Tech down the stretch in the first and second sets before the Yellow Jackets won the third frame to avoid the sweep. In the fourth set, the Wolfpack started the frame strong and grabbed control of the set early to claim the win.

The Wolfpack improves to 8-6 on the year and remains unbeaten in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play at 3-0, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 6-8 and 1-2 in league action.

- NC State won the first set of the match and has claimed the opening set in 11 of its 14 matches this season.
- The Wolfpack earned its first win at Georgia Tech since Sept. 30, 2011.

- NC State grabbed a 16-13 lead in the first set following a kill from freshman Melissa Evans and a service ace from Bree Bailey to force a Georgia Tech timeout.
