RALEIGH – The No. 20/25 NC State women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Princeton on Saturday afternoon at Dail Soccer Stadium.
The Tigers improve to 3-0-0 and the Wolfpack moves to 3-1-0.
COACH SANTORO'S TAKE
"They were better and they deserved to win the game today," said head coach Tim Santoro. "It was a fair score line. We didn't play our best today - some of it was us and some it was them. We'll learn from today and prepare for another tough match Monday.
"We still have a lot of work to do. We have to be good on the day, we can't just show up and play. Today was a good and tough game for us to learn from and we'll be ready to go Monday."
HOW IT HAPPENED
Princeton got on the board in the 21st minute on Mimi Asom's strike from the top of the box that finished inside the left post on Abby Givens' assist.
The Tigers doubled its lead in the 55th minute with Mikaela Symanovich's shot from inside 15 yards that found the right part of the net off of an Eve Hewins assist.
The Pack outshot the Tigers 15-7, but was unable to connect on its opportunities. Tziarra King led the squad with seven shots as three of them were on goal, including a strike that hit the left post.
