Men's Tennis Continues Solid Performance At Duke James Bonk Invite

CARY, N.C. – The NC State men's tennis team continued play at the Duke James Bonk Invite on Saturday, winning a doubles final and earning five singles wins on the second day of competition at the Cary Tennis Park.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Igor Saveljic and Ivan Saveljic registered back-to-back doubles victories Friday to send them to the final of the A2 doubles bracket. After defeating the flight's number one seed to earn a berth in the title match, the doubles pair matched up against Ryan Dickerson and Spencer Furman of Duke. The Wolfpack juniors took the match 8-5 to win their doubles draw.
Georgiy Malyshev put together another impressive performance, winning twice to remain undefeated in singles play. His first match was another come-from-behind victory over VCU's Arvid Noren in a 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 win. Malyshev then played Duke's Ryan Dickerson, and he beat him in straight sets 6-3, 7-5 to reach the final of the A2 singles flight.

The Wolfpack closes out the Duke James Bonk Invite tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., with each player competing in a singles match. Malyshev will play for a singles title, facing UNC-Chapel Hill's Josh Peck in the final of the A2 draw.
