RALEIGH – Following a 3-2 victory Friday evening over visiting Florida Atlantic to open the 2017 season, the NC State men's soccer team takes its first road trip of the regular season to play at William & Mary Monday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Martin Family Stadium in Williamsburg, Va.

STRONG SEASON OPENER
Led by goals from Tanner Roberts (26'), Stephen Elias (28'), and freshman Manny Perez (33'), the Wolfpack twice battled back from a one-goal deficit to earn the victory. In addition to his first career goal, Elias also contributed an assist on Perez's match-winning strike in the 33rd minute.

Friday's match was the first under new NC State head coach George Kiefer, who took over the Wolfpack program in November 2016 following 15 successful seasons and 10 NCAA Tournament berths at the University of South Florida (USF).

MULTIPLE FIRSTS
Freshman Manny Perez and junior Stephen Elias scored the first goals of their Wolfpack careers during Friday's win over FAU. Freshman Brad Sweeney also notched his first assist in the Wolfpack Red & White.

Junior Christoph Schneuwly and freshmen David Norris, David Loera, and Leon Krapf all made their NC State career debuts while junior Tyler Gabarra earned his first career start.

SCOUTING THE TRIBE
-William & Mary dropped a narrow 1-0 result in its season opener at Michigan Friday evening.
-The Tribe returns nine starters from a 2016 squad that went 12-7-2 and narrowly missed the NCAA Tournament after fallÂing 2-1 to Delaware in the CAA championship match. Thirteen of 20 players returning to the roster this season are juniors or seniors.
-William & Mary was selected as the preseason favorite in the CAA this season. Junior Antonio Bustamente was chosen as a preseason All-American by College Soccer News. Bustamente led the team last season with 10 goals and is also on the 2017 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List.

-The Wolfpack holds a 4-3-0 advantage in the series.
