Andreas Vazaios Breaks Another Greek Record in Budapest
BUDAPEST, Hungary – Refusing to rest on his laurels following his shattering of the Greek record in the 200-meter individual medley earlier in the week, Andreas Vazaios continued his record-breaking ways on Friday at the FINA World Championships, this time coming in the 200-meter freestyle, leading off the 800 freestyle relay.
Vazaios completed the opening 200 meters of the relay in a time of 1:47.48, breaking the record, which he held, by one second exactly.
"We are super excited about Andreas' swim, as well as his relay leadoff on that 800 freestyle relay that set a Greek record," said head coach Braden Holloway. "His continued hard work and dedication keep shining at the World Championships."

Later in the day, Vazaios competed in the 100 butterfly, and his time 52.88 seconds earned him a finish of 30th overall.
Up Next for the Wolfpack
Justin Ress competes in the 50 backstroke and Anton Ipsen competes in the heat of the 1500 freestyle on June 28. Sould Ipsen advance to the final, he will then compete in the final on June 30.
