July 26, 2017
RALEIGH – Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year Wes Moore added Raleigh native Grace Hunter to the NC State women's basketball team's roster in April. A transfer from Charlotte, Hunter will have two seasons of eligibility remaining with the Wolfpack after sitting out the upcoming 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Recently, she sat down with teammate Akela Maize to answer a few questions for GoPack.com.
What is your nickname?
Grace.
What are three words your teammates would use to describe you?
Goofy, hard-working, and weird.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
I would date either Kobe Bryant or Idris Alba.
What is your favorite thing about NC State's campus?
My favorite part of NC State's campus is that it is only five minutes away from my parents' house.
What is the most embarrassing thing you have done while playing basketball?
The most embarrassing thing I have done while playing basketball has to be when I had five turnovers in a row one game.
Would you rather be able to shoot like Steph Curry or dunk like LeBron James?
I would rather shoot like Steph Curry.
Do you have any siblings? if so, how many?
Yes, 12 siblings! My parents were married at 20 years old and have six boys and seven girls, including me.
What is your favorite quote?
"Eat or Be Eaten!"
If able to choose any height, what height would you want to be?
I would choose to be 6'1, because I could still be a guard but also be able to dunk!
Nobody knows I like to…
Nobody knows I like to write poetry in my free time.
Who has had the most influence on your life?
Jesus and his written word have had the most influence over my life.
Who/what keeps you motivated to play basketball every day?
My family and God keep me motivated every day.
What are you looking forward to the most about playing for the Wolfpack?
I am looking forward to representing the Raleigh area and ring chasing with my teammates.
If you could only bring one thing to an island, what would you bring?
I would bring my phone, because then I could post pictures!
Why did you choose NC State?
I chose NC State because I am close to home and able to help my family out, who need me there.
My biggest fear is…
My biggest fear is failure in pursuing my dreams.
If you could be the main actor in any movie, who would you be?
I would be Monica from the movie "Love and Basketball". She's gorgeous and a bucket on the court! Plus her boyfriend was also good at basketball and they made one another better by working out together.
I would be a _______ if I did not play basketball.
Believe it or not, I would be a photographer if I did not play basketball.
