RALEIGH—NC State's Martina Frantova and Anna Rogers have been selected for the 2017 NCAA Women's Tennis Doubles Championships, as announced by the organization Wednesday. The berth represents only the third time a Wolfpack doubles pair has earned a trip to the championships and the first in six years.
Frantova and Rogers received an at-large bid and will compete against 32 other doubles teams for an individual championship title. The tournament is set to run May 24-29 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia, following the team tournament which runs from May 19- 23
The pair has distinguished themselves as the program's most successful team in NC State's history as it concluded a tremendous campaign tallying a 21-1 record. They will enter the tournament with their highest ITA ranking of the season at No. 12.
The news follows Tuesday's announcement by the NCAA where the team learned they will face No. 40 Oregon in the first round of the regional competition in Athens on May 13. The match will kick off at 9 am and will mark just the second time the teams have play each other.
