RALEIGH – Senior forward Jennifer Mathurin of the No. 18/18 NC State women's basketball team (22-8) has been cleared to return to competition following a leg injury sustained during the quarterfinal round of the 2017 ACC Tournament on March 3, the program announced Tuesday. This news means that the Wolfpack is operating at full strength heading into the NCAA Tournament.
Mathurin has started 28 of the Wolfpack's 30 games this season and averages 25.9 minutes, 9.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. In addition to her successes on the court, Mathurin was recently named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the second straight season and earned a postgraduate scholarship from the league on February 22.
The March 3 game vs. No. 14/13 Louisville also featured freshman Aislinn Konig's return to competition for the first time since a January 5 game vs. No. 14/14 Miami. Konig is averaging 18.2 minutes, 7.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game this season while shooting .430 from the field and .375 from beyond the arc.
