Wolfpack defeats Tigers for first time since 2001
RALEIGH—The NC State women's tennis team powered to victory over Clemson Friday night at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center, marking the team's first win over the Tigers since 2001. The No. 26 Wolfpack defeated the ACC opponent by a final score of 6-1 to move its overall record to 15-7 (4-5 ACC) while No. 46 Clemson falls to 8-9 (3-5 ACC).

Match Recap
The Wolfpack started the match off with a win in doubles play. No. 21 Martina Frantova and Anna Rogers rolled past Clemson's Broomfield and Leduc to earn their tenth-straight win. The duo handily won by a final score of 6-1 at the top doubles position and holds a season record of 16-1. NC State's Claudia Wiktorin and Bianca Moldovan earned a win on court two over the Tigers' Riley and Gorches to send the Wolfpack into singles with a 1-0 lead. The tandem battled from behind to overcome the Tigers' early lead and win the match by a 6-4 decision. On court three, Clemson's Ruiz and Navarro defeated Amanda Rebol and Adriana Reami, 6-2.
In singles, Rebol moved the Wolfpack to a 2-0 lead as she cruised by Ruiz to win on court six, 6-0, 6-2. The Tigers responded with a win on court one to earn its only point of the day, where Clemson's Leduc defeated No. 55 Frantova, 6-4, 6-4.
NC State collected the remaining four points of the match with wins on courts two through five. Moldovan clinched the team's victory as she simultaneously earned her eighth-straight win, battling through a tough second set to take down Gorches by a final score of 6-2, 7-5 on court five. Reami followed suit, rattling off a 7-5, 6-3 win over Navarro on court four to extend the Wolfpack's lead to 5-1. On court three, Wiktorin fought through three sets to take down the Tigers' Riley, 7-5, 6-7, 10-5.
In the final match of the night, Rogers upset No. 83 Broomfield on court two. The freshman overcame split sets to earn a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win, marking the biggest win of her season thus far.
