RALEIGH, N.C. –Erika Kemp has been named the ACC Women's Track Co-Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon. She shares the honor with Clemson's Ersula Farrow.
Kemp won the Raleigh Relays 10,000m, crossing the finish line in 33:36.26, which set the NCAA's leading mark in the event this season. The Mount Holly, N.J., native ran the race in flats and it marked her first 10,000m since the 2015 Stanford Invitational.
During the race, she settled into the lead pack and stayed on the back shoulder of the race's leader. Over the final 300m, Kemp kicked past North Florida's Eden Meyer to win by seven seconds.
The NC State track and field team will continue the season this weekend, at the Florida Relays and the Stanford Invitational.
