King Selected to Train with United States U-23 National Team

CHICAGO – Tziarra King has been identified as one of the top emerging prospects in US Soccer and will train at the United States Under-23 Women's National Team camp in Portland, Ore., March 23rd – April 2nd.
In her freshman campaign, King started all 22 matches in a season where the Wolfpack broke into the national scene. The season concluded with a run to the NCAA Sweet 16 in the team's first NCAA Championship appearance since 1996.
King led the team with eight goals and 17 points, and was selected to the All-ACC Third Team, All-ACC Freshman Team and the NSCAA Southeast All-Region Team
"I couldn't be happier for Zee and more proud of her. She's worked hard and thoroughly deserves this opportunity," head coach Tim Santoro said. "It also shows the identification and development that's going on at NC State and we're excited for the future for Zee and other players."
King is one of the youngest players in the selection and is also eligible for the US U20 National Team.
The U23s will take part in the NWSL Portland Thorns Spring Invitational from March 26-April 1 in Portland, Ore. The U.S. U-23 National Team will take on three NWSL teams at Providence Park, playing the Houston Dash on Sunday, March 26 at 5:30 p.m. ET, the Portland Thorns Wednesday, March 29, at 10:30 p.m. ET. and the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday, April 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
