
No. 31 NC State to Host Doubleheader Sunday

RALEIGH—The No. 31 NC State women's tennis team will return to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center after two road matches to host a doubleheader on Sunday. The team is set to play Boston College at noon, followed by a 5 p.m. match versus Winthrop.
Last Time Out
The Wolfpack will enter Sunday's doubleheader having split its last two matches. On Monday, NC State defeated Utah in Salt Lake City by a final score of 6-1 while the team fell to the Virginia Cavaliers Friday afternoon in Charlottesville, Va., 5-2. The results move the team to an overall record of 10-7 (0-5 ACC).
Wolfpack In the Rankings
In the latest Oracle/ITA poll, the Wolfpack improved four spots from the March 7 poll to take the No. 31 team rank. Senior Frantova remains No. 34 on the singles poll and holds a 8-7 (0-5 ACC) record. In doubles play, Frantova and Rogers earned the No. 30 rank with a 11-1 (4-1 ACC).
Scouting Boston College
Entering the match, the Eagles hold a 7-6 (2-3 ACC) season record. The team earned a win in its last match, taking down Pittsburgh in a close battle, 4-3. At the top singles position, Asiya Dair owns a 7-5 season record while in No. 1 doubles Dasha Possokhova and Kylie Wilcox have earned a 6-4 ledger. In the overall series, NC State leads, 11-5.
Scouting Winthrop
The Winthrop Eagles own a 12-3 (4-0 BSC) and are currently on a four-match winning streak. The team has a young roster, with four freshmen, four sophomores, no juniors and just one redshirt senior. At the ITA Carolina Regional in October, the Eagles and Wolfpack faced off in two matches. In singles, sophomore Lauren Proctor defeated Claudia Wiktorin, 6-0, 6-4, while in doubles Bianca Moldovan and Wiktorin took down Caitlin Cridland and Proctor, 8-5. NC State leads the overall series with a record of 9-2.
