Brooker Named EAGL Rookie of the Week

RALEIGH, N.C. – Melissa Brooker of the NC State gymnastics team has been selected as the EAGL Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Feb. 28th.
Brooker's all-around performance led the Wolfpack to a season-high team score of 195.550 against Kent State and George Washington this past weekend. Brooker had the best meet of her college career, setting a career high 39.150 in the all-around competition and tying or setting career high scores on three of the four rotations.
Brooker won the bars competition with a career high 9.875 to earn a spot on podium for the first time in her career. She set a career high of 9.775 on vault and tied her career best of 9.750 on beam. She also finished fourth on the team on floor with a 9.750.
NC State will be back in action this weekend, as it travels to Southern Utah for a dual in Cedar City, Utah.
