NC State Concludes ACC Championships

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The NC State track and field team wrapped up the 2017 ACC Indoor Championships on Saturday. The men's team finished seventh with 39 points and the women's team finished ninth with 35 points.

On the final day of the competition, NC State had three athletes make the podium and seven earn All-ACC honors.

Distance:
Erika Kemp led the Pack to its first individual title of the meet and won her first individual ACC title on the track, taking the victory in the 3,000m with a time of 9:19.79. The title is the first 3,000m title in school history since Kristin Price won the event in 2004. Â Kemp trailed until the final lap before closing the final 320m with a strong kick to overtake the leaders and win the event.

Elly Henes took sixth in the event with a time of 9:29.59 to capture the first track All-ACC honor of her career and score three points for the team. Megan Moye and Ryen Frazier rounded out the top-10, finishing ninth and 10th respectively.

In the men's event, Sam Parsons took fifth with a time of 8:08.34 to earn All-ACC honors and score four points for men's team. Parsons concludes the ACC Indoor Championships with two All-ACC honors. The senior scored 12 points for the men's team from finishes in the 5,000m and 3,000m.

Sebastian Hanson took ninth in the event with a time of 8:11.71 and Eli Moskowitz won the first heat and finished 10th overall with a time of 8:15.91.

Mid-Distance:
For the second-straight year, Megan Moye made the podium in the mile. Moye took third overall and reset her school record with a time of 4:36.76. Moye earned first team All-ACC honors with the finish and scored six points for the women's team.

Kaitlyn Kramer followed closely behind to finish sixth and earn second team All-ACC honors with a time of 4:47.72. The finish scored three points for the team and marked Kramer's first All-ACC honor on the track.

Sprints:
NC State's men's sprinters accounted for 13 team points between the 60m and 200m. Cravont Charleston scored eight points after winning silver in the 60m with a time of 6.67. Nyheim Hines added a sixth-place finish in the 60m with a time of 6.81 and a seventh-place finish in the 200m with a time of 21.68 to score five points. With the finishes in the 60m, Charleston is a first team All-ACC selection and Hines is a second-team All-ACC selection. It marked the second-straight year NC State has scored points in the 60m and 200m races.

On the women's side, Gabriele Cunningham finished seventh to score two points with a time of 7.44. It was Cunningham's first indoor final after finishing 13th overall last season.

Jumps:
Javonne Antoine led NC State's triple jumpers and took seventh in the competition with a mark of 40'11.00". The finish scored two points for the women's team. In the men's event, Kimani "KC" Hoffman finished ninth with a season high 48'9.50".

NC State will await selections for the NCAA Indoor Championships, which are slated to be held next weekend.
